Against the unobstructed panorama of the Marina Bay waterfront — where fireworks will explode right in front of its terrace — diners at the Dining Room can enjoy an exclusive five course National Day set dinner ($228++ per person) with reinterpretations of local favourites like Potato and Truffle Curry Puff, Salted Egg Mud Crab, Smoked Heirloom Tomato and Local Lobster Bisque infused with a housemade laksa paste and served with a poached lobster tail. There is also a vegetarian five course National Day set sinner ($158++ per person) that features Singapore-style Fried Tofu with Seaweed Caviar, Salted Egg and Sweet Pea Tartlet, Mushroom and Soy Tortellini.

For something more casual, a National Day sharing menu ($118++ per person) brings together highlights from the Dining Room’s set menu with popular bestsellers from Social’s regular a-la-carte menu.

Rooftop destination Cé La Vie at Marina Bay Sands comes alive on National Day with tantalising BBQ menus, fun activities and live DJ entertainment. Available at the Club Lounge, diners will get to tuck in to sharing-style platter options like the Classic BBQ Platter ($155++) or Surf & Turf BBQ Platter ($180++), including BBQ oysters with smoked ponzu granita and maimoa lamb chops with chimichurri.

Adding to the celebrations, there will be a face painting zone for children, live stations for popcorn and muah chee, and the resident DJ spinning house anthems at SkyBar.
Cocktail lovers will also get to experience new Asian-inspired libations created by the new head of mixology Hans Anuar. Shaken with rum and whiskey is the new Rum-a-laka, a reimagining of local dessert Pisang Salai, which encapsulates flavours from toasted banana peels and gula Melaka.
Another standout is the Guavarita, which takes inspiration from fruit-paddling carts filled with jambu asam (sour guava). This concoction uses ingredients such as pickled guava, plum, and honey with a light dash of chilli for a spicy kick.

This National Day, 1-Arden turns up the heat with dazzling views of the fireworks from the 17th and 51st floors of the CapitaSpring skyscraper.
Kick-start the festivities with a Four Hands five course dinner ($248++), specially put together by chef John-Paul Fiechtner of Kaarla Restaurant and Bar and chef Lamley Chua of Oumi. Kissed by fire with its custom-built grill and oven, Fiechtner will serve up creations focusing on the best of Australia’s seasonal bounty from land and sea cooked from farm-to-table. Chua will follow with Kappo dishes prepared with different carefully selected cooking techniques that allow fresh, natural flavours to shine, whilst utilising a ‘nose-to-tail’ culinary approach. The final collaborative course also epitomises the symbiotic bond between both restaurants. A minimum spend of $2,000++ is required for diners to enjoy prime window-side seats to experience the breathtaking fireworks display.

Learn more about the significance of sculptures as a key art form at National Gallery Singapore’s latest exhibition, Nothing is Forever: Rethinking Sculpture in Singapore — the first major sculpture exhibition in 30 years.
Now on at Ngee Ann Kongsi Concourse Gallery and The Spine Hall, Nothing is Forever traces the changing definitions of sculpture in Singapore from the 19th century till present day, as it also celebrates the significance of this artistic medium and its impact on our local artistic landscape.
From funerary artefacts recovered from Bukit Brown Cemetery to artworks created from everyday items and modern works that challenge traditional definitions of sculpture, the exhibition will intrigue visitors with the shifts over the making and thinking of this three-dimensional medium.
The exhibition will run all the way till Feb 5, 2023. Admission is free for all visitors.
