Sumptuous plant-based dishes
Crystal Jade
To cater to a growing number of health-conscious diners, Crystal Jade Hong Kong Kitchen and Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao have both unveiled plant-based menus with new creations plus renditions of their most popular dishes, in collaboration with sustainability champion, Green Monday.
The launch of these plant-based menus is in line with the restaurant group’s initiative to make alternative proteins more accessible to a growing number of customers who are keen on meat-free options.
Crystal Jade Hong Kong Kitchen is serving six plant-based dishes featuring OmniMeat, Heuraand Beyond Beef: Steamed Crystal Dumpling with Preserved Olives and OmniMeat ($6.30); Sweet & Sour Heura Chicken ($16.80); General Tso’ Heura Chicken ($16.80); Crispy Black Pepper Beyond Beef with Potato Dumpling ($6.80); Handmade OmniMeat Ball Congee ($9.80), and Deep-fried Spring Roll with Beyond Beef ($6.80).
Over at Crystal Jade Jiang Nan & La Mian Xiao Long Bao where hand-pulled noodles and Northern Chinese specialties take centrestage, the plant-based dishes are wholesome yet still possess robust and punchy flavours. Must-tries include Shredded Heura Chicken Salad in Szechuan Style ($8.80); Ma Po Beancurd with Minced OmniMeat ($14.80); Deep-fried Heura Chicken Fillet with Crispy Minced Garlic ($18.80); Signature Dan Dan La Mian with Minced OmniMeat ($11.80); Pan-fried Mala Bun with Beyond Beef ($6.80); and OmniMeat Dumpling with Homemade Hot Chilli Vinaigrette ($8.80).
All plant-based dishes are available for both dine-in and takeaway at all Crystal Jade Hong Kong Kitchen and Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao outlets islandwide.

A cognac for the nobles

One of Martell’s most-raved cognacs, Noblige is now available in Singapore in a one-litre format for the ultimate enjoyment. An elegant and aromatic spirit with fruity notes casked in fine-grained oak, this drink is best served on ice. An exhibition by the visually impaired
Asian Civilisations Museum
Just what is visiting a museum like for a visually impaired person? Find out at Up Close with ACM, a special programme where sighted guests will be led by visually impaired facilitators on a sensorial journey to discover 3D-printed objects that replicate some of the current exhibits in the museum, all while blindfolded. The 90-minute journey lets guests experience the museum in a new way, starting with a Dialogue & Touch session of the 3D-printed replicas, followed by a Sensory Tour at the Maritime Trade and Court & Company gallery, where the original exhibits are found.
Up Close with ACM is free and takes place every last Saturday of the month on Oct 30 and Nov 27 from 2-3.30pm. This initiative is led by the Asian Civilisations Museum in partnership with Dialogue in the Dark Singapore and supported by Keppel Corp. For more information, visit acm.gov.sg.
