Now on at National Museum of Singapore till May 29, Dislocations will bring together different personal accounts and examines how the war continues to leave a lasting impact on our nation’s consciousness through a blend of physical artefacts, video projections, documents and oral histories.
As a digital touchpoint, you can visit the event microsite beforehand and take part in an immersive pre-exhibition game called ‘Sunset in Singapore’, that allows visitors to encounter the war through the lens of various groups of people like allied soldiers, nurses or civilians.

Japanese kaiseki restaurant Mikuni celebrates Hina Matsuri or “doll festival” — a day in which families wish their daughters good health and happiness in life — with a limited edition bento set now available till Mar 14.
Chef Keisuke Uno’s exquisitely crafted menu begins with Mikuni’s Signature Sea Urchin Shell, where perfect slivers of Hokkaido sea urchin are served alongside an exquisite lobster jelly made over four days using lobster-infused Japanese fish stock and homemade chicken stock. Then, savour the plump flesh of Otoro sourced from the fresh waters of Nagasaki, with a touch of sweetness from the delicate Kyushu Kanro soy sauce. Other menu highlights include a wondrously flavourful A5 Tochigi Wagyu Sushi Roll, a decadent Lobster Sea Urchin Gratin, and a pair of Miyagi Oysters wrapped in Kadaif noodles and lightly fried till crispy.

Specific Gravity Beverage Co X Lemuel
Singapore craft beer specialist Specific Gravity Beverage Co (SGBC) has teamed up with local bean-to-bar chocolatier Lemuel Chocolate to create a tasty chocolate beer called Bow & Arrow Chocolate Ale. Brewed at a small facility in Singapore with cacao beans from Ecuador roasted and processed at Lemuel, Bow & Arrow is an amber-hued ale with a mildly-roasted malty flavour and subtle nuances of chocolate which is surprisingly easy drinking. The label sports SGBC’s signature Peranakan tile motif, which incidentally won a gold medal for packaging at the Australian International Beer Awards. The outfit is also the recipient of several other accolades, including a gold medal in the English-style IPA category at the Asia Beer Championships in Singapore and a bronze in the same category at Melbourne’s Australia International Beer Awards.
