There are five two-Michelin starred restaurants. Those who have retained their stars include Saint Pierre, Shisen Hanten, Shoukouwa, and Waku Ghin plus new entrant Jaan by Kirk Westaway, which is known for its modern British cuisine.
Of the 41 one-starred selections, 12 are newcomers: They include newly-opened Basque Kitchen by Aitor that pay tribute to classic Basque flavours and produce; Lerouy which pays homage to Alsatian-inspired French cooking; and relaunched Whitegrass which serves seasonal Japanese ingredients turned into classic French fare.
Other one-star headliners include Art, which serves traditional Italian cuisine; Cloudstreet, which offers modern Sri Lankan fare omakase-style; Sommer and its modern European offerings; Thevar’s multi-course Indian menu crafted with European techniques and Cure’s reimagined Irish classics.

Canchita Peruvian Cuisine
From now till Sept 30, Peruvian restaurant Canchita will be celebrating Chile’s Independence by serving its best Chilean wines. For reds, a special vintage has been chosen to showcase the bold flavours of the region. The Manso de Velasco Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 ($30++ per glass, $150++ per bottle) is leathery yet fruity with a balance of fruit and spice and long, soft tannins finished with delicate notes of toasted bread.
White wine lovers will get to try the Cordillera de los Andes Chardonnay ($18++ per glass, $90++ per bottle), which boasts fresh, fruity aromas dominated by peach, white plum and grapefruit notes, with touches of toasted hazelnut that ends with a pleasant aftertaste on the palate.
