Embark on your culinary adventure across the Lion City as the highly-anticipated Singapore Restaurant Week is back! This dining event has delighted Singaporeans for the past decade, with its straightforward offering of specially-curated threecourse lunch menus (starting from $28++) and three-course dinner menus (starting from $38++) at 100 selected restaurants in Singapore. The concept of ‘Singapore Restaurant Week’ is inspired by ‘New York Restaurant Week’ which started in 1998 by the New York State Division of Tourism to promote their local catering industry to the tourists from all around the world. This concept has since been extended to the major cities in Europe, South America and Asia, and has delighted diners in Singapore since 2012. This edition sees partnerships with Beam Suntory and its brands, Auchentoshan Whisky, Roku Gin, Maker’s Mark Bourbon and Jim Beam Bourbon, which gives guests the chance to experience complimentary alcohol pairing at selected restaurants. Durian Fiesta with Goodwood Park Hotel

Asian Civilisations Museum opens new permanent galleries

As Singapore’s national museum of Asian antiquities and decorative arts, the Asian Civilisations Museum celebrates a major milestone with the opening of its new third-floor galleries. Themed collectively as Materials and Design, these galleries mark the completion of the ACM’s multi-year refresh of its permanent galleries. Decorative arts are the focus on Level 3, highlighting a major aspect of ACM’s collection. This affirms the museum’s dedication to the aesthetics and craftsmanship of objects that illuminate global, regional, and local exchanges. One of the highlights is the Jewellery gallery, which displays a dazzling array of predominantly Island Southeast Asian jewellery from the Neolithic period to the 20th century. From life to death, jewellery is present at every stage and shares an intimate relationship with its wearer. Its public display communicates ideas of beauty, rank, and status in vast and unexpected ways. Supported by a generous gift from Edmond Chin in honour of his parents, Mary and Philbert Chin, this gallery adds to the range of treasures on view in the museum.
