Cortina Watch turns 50 this year and CEO Jeremy Lim has every reason to celebrate. The company made it through the pandemic with a glowing report card and he shares how it weathered the storm, the reasons to be grateful and how it is giving back to society

As Singapore transitions from the Cov- id-19 pandemic to an endemic phase, business owners will no doubt look back at the last two years and consider it the hardest their business has ever seen. Not for Cortina Watch CEO Jeremy Lim, who admits that 2020 was a record year for the company and describes the year as being phenomenal.

But the year was not without its challenges. He remembers: “Every day during the pandemic I was asking myself, ‘What can we do?; We need to push, we need to continue; we need to digitise; we need to talk to our customers.’ At that point in time, we had to cut advertisements, especially the ones in in-flight magazines, unfortunately. Flights have stopped, nobody’s travelling, and everything ground to a halt. I guess the first two months of the “circuit breaker” were uncertain.”
