In the six new watch models of the current collection, Patek Philippe combines watchmaking artistry with exquisitely rare handcrafting
The most coveted name in watches, Patek Philippe launches six models of grand complication timepieces at the “Rare Handcrafts 2020-2021” exhibition. Each piece is special through its design that features artistic decorations such as manual engraving, grand feu cloisonné enamel, grand feu champlevé enamel, grand feu flinqué enamel, manual guilloching and gemsetting.
Patek Philippe was founded in 1839, and has always prided itself on producing watches to be works of art that reflect the refined aesthetics of mechanical perfection. The brand cultivates all techniques used to decorate timepieces, assuring that these skills are handed down from one generation to the next.
Here are six timepieces you might want to keep for the next generation.
6002R-001
Patek Philippe gives the Reference 6002 Sky Moon Tourbillon a new look by combining the warm glow of rose gold with a Grand Feu brown enamel decoration. The double-faced case, crowns, slide piece, hour/minute hands, and fold-over clasp are entirely hand-engraved with volutes and arabesques. The front dial combines Grand Feu champlevé and cloisonné enamelling. This exceptional timepiece, the second most complicated Patek Philippe wristwatch (12 complications), is delivered with a pair of matching cufflinks.

A miracle of transparency, the Reference 5304 self-winding Grand Complication with minute repeater and retrograde perpetual calendar is reinterpreted in a new rose gold version on which the bezel, lugs and fold-over clasp are enhanced with 80 baguette-cut diamonds (~6.22 cts). This sparkling touch highlights the ingenious calendar display system with sapphire disks. The “leaf” motif engraved on the white gold inserts adorning the sides of the case is echoed on the off-centre rose gold mini-rotor visible through the transparent case back.

The Reference 5374 Grand Complication with minute repeater and perpetual calendar combines technical excellence and elegance in a new white gold version with a Grand Feu blue enamel dial featuring a glossy finish. 5738/51G-001
The timeless design of the Golden Ellipse is combined with rare handcrafts in a new white gold timepiece featuring a highly original face. The 18K gold dial plate is first hollowed out to form the cavities for the Grand Feu black enamel, using the champlevé technique. The gold areas left in relief are then entirely hand-engraved with an arabesque and volute decor. Beneath this artistically crafted dial beats the ultra-thin self-winding calibre 240.
7118/1450G-001
Patek Philippe presents the Nautilus Haute Joaillerie reference 7118/1450 in a new white gold interpretation featuring a case, bezel and bracelet adorned with snow-set diamonds and a dial illuminated by rows of stones set in the small raised wave pattern typical of the ladies’ Nautilus collection. The architecture and meticulous finishing of the self-winding calibre 324 S are visible through a transparent sapphire crystal case back. The bracelet is equipped with a patented Patek Philippe fold-over clasp secured by four independent catches. The new Nautilus Haute Joaillerie sparkles with the fire of 2,553 brilliant-cut internally flawless Top Wesselton (~12.69 cts).
For the active Woman
The “manchette” or cuff-style models with quartz movements now include a new version in rose gold with a chocolate-brown sunburst dial. The Twenty~4 Automatic, in a round case, offers two new models — one in steel adorned with an olive-green sunburst dial, the other in rose gold, its dial gilded with a rose-gold sunburst.
As the name suggests, Twenty~4 stands for the 24 hours in a day and night. It also represents the facets of a rich and varied existence. When Patek Philippe launched its first exclusively feminine collection in 1999, it had the busy lives of modern active women in mind. A timepiece designed with an assertive personality, an asset to every occasion — at work and at home and during leisure activities.

Twenty~4 Reference 4910/1201R-001: A new model in rose gold with a chocolate-brown sunburst dial
The third “manchette” model to adopt the new Twenty~4 face, Reference 4910/1201R-001 pairs an 18K rose-gold case with a chocolate-brown sunburst dial — a warm-toned, refined, feminine combination. Two vertical rows of seventeen Top Wesselton Pure diamonds (total: 34 diamonds, ~0.57 ct) set with textbook precision highlight the distinctive two-tier shape of the case. The clean layout of the dial
gives centre stage to the applied Arabic numerals, the applied trapeze-shaped hour-markers and the rounded baton-style hands, all in rose gold with a luminescent coating. A Calatrava cross, an emblem of the manufacturer, decorates the crown. The rose-gold bracelet with a fold-over clasp is a jewel in its own right. Fully hand-polished, it feels smooth and cosseting on the wrist. The mechanical components of the Patek Philippe calibre E15 quartz movement are crafted with the same devotion to fine workmanship as those of the mechanical movements. The new Twenty~4 “manchette” Reference 4910/1201R-001 joins the models in steel with a blue sunburst dial (4910/1200A- 001) or a gray sunburst dial (4910/1200A- 010).
Twenty~4 Automatic Reference 7300/1200A-011: A new model in steel with an olive-green sunburst dial
This new Twenty~4 Automatic in steel stands out by its elegant dial in olive green, a colour making its first appearance in the contemporary Patek Philippe collections and presented to great effect with a glowing sunburst decoration. The white-gold applied Arabic numerals and white-gold hands have a luminescent coating, ensuring excellent legibility under all conditions. A white-gold frame adorns the date aperture at six o’clock. The pure circle of the case is lit with 160 diamonds (~0.77 carat) set in two staggered rows according to the “dentelle” (lacework) technique. A transparent case back reveals the painstaking hand-finish and decoration lavished on the calibre 324 S C self-winding movement. The polished-steel bracelet features a new, patented fold-over clasp secured by four independent catches. This new Twenty~4 Automatic Reference 7300/1200A-011 joins the models in steel with a blue sunburst dial (7300/1200A- 001) or a gray sunburst dial (7300/1200A-010).
Twenty~4 Automatic Reference 7300/1200R-011: A new model in rose gold with a gilded rose-gold sunburst dial
Sculpted in rose gold, the new Twenty~4 Automatic Reference 7300/1200R-011 extends the warm sheen of its case to a dial gilded with a rose-gold sunburst and to hour and minute hands, applied Arabic numerals and the frame of the date aperture all fashioned in the same precious metal. A double row of diamonds in a “dentelle” (lacework) setting adds a touch of brilliance, as does the fine
hand-finish and decoration of the calibre 324 S C self-winding movement visible through the sapphire-crystal case back. The new, patented fold-over clasp adds to the comfort of the bracelet, whose three rows of rose-gold links are fully hand-polished. The new Twenty~4 Automatic Reference 7300/1200R-011 joins the rose-gold models featuring a dial with a chocolate-brown sunburst (7300/1200R-001) or a “shantung” decoration (7300/1200R-010) and the jewellery versions (7300/1201R-001 & 7300/1201R-010) and Haute Joaillerie versions (7300/1450R-001).
