Watch brands welcome a new season with new models. Options has shortlisted a few that stand out.

Panerai Lumitech Luminor Marina

In the wake of the 70th anniversary of the Luminor collection, named for the luminescent substance first patented in middle of the last century and an enduring signature of the brand, Panerai once again celebrates its iconic collection with a precious interpretation: the Platinumtech Luminor Marina (PAM01116) (main image).

A special edition with a singular identity, Platinumtech Luminor Marina is only produced in a limited edition of just 70 pieces. During its exceptional warranty term of 70 years, the brand will provide customers with services to keep the watch in perfect functioning free of charge.

Identifiable by its case and dial layout, Platinumtech Luminor Marina stands out in the Luminor Marina collection thanks to the noble metal that endows it with toughness: Platinumtech. Harder than conventional platinum, this alloy is reformulated and perfected by the Panerai Laboratorio di Idee. The piece featured comes in a suave olive green dial with satiné soleil decoration, sandwich structure, and Arabic numerals and indexes in beige Super-LumiNova with green luminescence.

IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Tribute to 3705”

IWC Schaffhausen is travelling back in time to honour the legendary Ceramic Fliegerchronograph from 1994, with the latest edition of Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Tribute to 3705”. After fading into obscurity for almost a quarter of a century, it became a cult classic and is now considered one of the most sought-after models from IWC’s recent history.

Limited to only 1,000 pieces, the new tribute edition faithfully replicates the original’s dial design, but instead of a ceramic case, this time it features one made of Ceratanium, a new material developed by IWC that is light and robust like titanium, but also similarly hard and scratch-resistant like ceramic.

While the original ref. 3705 was powered by the Valjoux calibre 7750, the new Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Tribute to 3705” boasts sophisticated movement technology from Schaffhausen. Inside the 41mm case, the in-house 69380 calibre is at work. This chronograph movement in classic column-wheel design is one of IWC’s latest developments.

Bovet 19Thirty

The youngest family in the BOVET 1822 collections is expanding this year with a new model – the 19Thirty. At first glance, the mesmerising deep red dial catches your attention, but look a little closer and you will notice the intricate dial decorated by artisanal craftsmen with the finest materials.

The movement’s technical excellence and the artistic aspect of these sumptuous off-centre dials come together to present an elegant circular “Côtes de Genève” pattern whose black embellishment contrasts with the intense red of the guilloché dials.

The 19Thirty collection is created by Pascal Raffy, owner of BOVET, and stands out for its ease of use and Fleurier case. It is immediately identifiable by its crown and bow situated at 12 o’clock in a nod to 19th-century pocket watches.

The watch comes in a 42mm case in red gold or stainless steel, which provides optimal comfort no matter the size of the wearer’s wrist. The sapphire cabochon that ornaments the crown of the timepiece highlights its exceptional elegance.

Club by NOMOS Glashütte

Watchmaking company NOMOS Glashütte enters the spring season with three limited-edition automatic models in new colours.

Sporty, long-lasting and attractively priced, Club by NOMOS Glashütte is the third special limited-edition range of models launched by Glashütte in conjunction with its 175- year anniversary. The Club by NOMOS Glashütte comes in three new colourways, each limited to 175 pieces. The three models are Club automatic onyx, Club automatic navy, Club automatic olive. This popular model with domed sapphire crystal glass is available in beautiful shades of green, blue and galvanised black.

Within these timepieces, the NOMOS movement DUW 5001 is at work — the first self-winding calibre from the watchmaking company. The diameter measures 40mm, while all three watches are also highly legible at night, thanks to their white superluminova indexes.
