Artyzen offers an unforgettable stay in the heart of town
Located in the vibrant Orchard Road district, Artyzen is a hotel with a rich cultural tapestry and design-focused architecture. Recently opened, this 142-room property offers a unique blend of heritage and modern luxury, making it an ideal destination for discerning travellers.
Artyzen Singapore resides on the historic grounds of the former Villa Marie, a 1940s mansion built by avid botanist Tan Hoon Siang. Today, it stands reimagined as a sanctuary, featuring lush sky gardens and a stunning architectural design that pays homage to its botanical heritage.
When you approach the hotel from the corner of Orchard Road, you are greeted by the impressive architecture of a vertical oasis. Raw concrete forms the foundation of its contemporary design, a neutral canvas accentuated by elongated ceilings and archways to facilitate airflow. Around the hotel, pocket gardens, courtyards and covered walkways flanked with lush vegetation break up the urban scenery.
Inside, the lobby is an artistic vision with bold floral motifs that recall the vibrant synergy of Singapore’s traditional and contemporary cultures. Conceived by the renowned architecture firm Ong&Ong in collaboration with award-winning interior design studio Nic Graham & Associates, the hotel’s design draws deep inspiration from Singapore’s vibrant cultural background, echoing the site of the former tropical garden villa.

The hotel’s 142 guestrooms span from the eighth to 20th floors. Designed in a maximalist style, each room is rendered in polished concrete, herringbone timber, stone and brass, contrasting against bold prints and colours. All rooms have a balcony, as well as ceiling fans and air-conditioning.

Room categories start from the Deluxe Balcony Room at 42 to 48 sq m, sporting soaring 4m-high ceilings and priced from $550++; to the Terrace Suite measuring 178 sq m at $1,700++. Those looking for a truly luxurious stay can opt for the highest tier — a 448 sq m penthouse priced from $15,000++.
Artyzen also has a pet-friendly package that allows guests to bring their furry friends with them. The hotel’s Fur-tastic Getaway (from $710 onwards) comes with a night’s stay, a specially curated doggy amenity kit, cosy dog bed, $100 nett dining credit and daily breakfast for two at Café Quenino.
Options had the opportunity to stay in the Deluxe Balcony Room, which was indeed lavish and comfortable. The maximalist design of the room is fun and welcoming. The spacious bathroom comes with a bathtub that gives you a view of the TV, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing soak while catching up on the latest episodes of your favourite shows.
On top of the indulgent room, what really enhanced my stay were the experiences available in the hotel.
Firstly, the in-house spa on the fifth floor offered a blissful 60-minute massage that worked out all the knots in my muscles and relieved all my stress. I tried the signature Gemstone Massage, where I could pick the type of gemstone to be used for the treatment. The stones were heated and placed on my “chakra points” to clear negative energies within my body.

Secondly, Artyzen offers daily wellness activities for guests to participate in. I attended a yoga class at the yoga pavilion surrounded by lush greenery, also on the fifth floor. Other activities include high-intensity interval training and guided meditations. Make sure you check out the impressive 25m cantilevered infinity pool with a glass bottom.
Last but not least was the unforgettable dining experience at Quenino by Victor Liong. This contemporary Asian restaurant is one of the best hotel dining experiences I’ve had. For just $180, I get to enjoy a whole 10-course menu, with every dish making me go “wow”.
Overall, Artyzen is not just a fancy hotel, it is a whole experience that I truly enjoyed. I will definitely come back for my next staycation.
