The brokers include Gabriel Gan Tze Wee and Henry Tjoa Sang Hi, who had gone to the extent of getting Soh a disposable phone.

John Soh says "rogue" traders in his inner circle made him the scapegoat when CAD probe on manipulation of penny stocks started.

John Soh actively promoted LionGold to turn it around, thought plan was working well when big names started to invest in the firm.

“It has nothing to do with mine or Su-Ling’s directions,” maintained Soh.

“A lot of things the [trading representatives] have been saying have been total lies,in order to protect their licenses,”Soh said.

Soh told Chen sing the same tune. "If you say otherwise, you have all the brokers in town against you."

To coincide with his lies to the authorities, Tjoa had instructed his three assistants to tell untruths when they were questioned.

In an attempt to destroy any evidence that could be used by the CAD against him, Tjoa allegedly threw his disposable phone into the sea at East Coast, and reformatted the CPU of his office desktop.

Under cross examination by Soh’s defence counsel, senior counsel N Sreenivasan of K&L Gates Straits Law, Tjoa admitted that he was aware that market manipulation was going on back in March and April 2013.
