From factory floor to digital core
Singapore’s manufacturing sector over the years has strengthened from labour-intensive, low-cost production to advanced, high-value operations. Fuelled by AI, automation, and digital advancements, the country is well-positioned as a centre for global supply chain management.
In 2024, manufacturing contributed nearly 17% of Singapore’s GDP, accounting for 17.3% of nominal value added. The government’s vision to grow advanced manufacturing by 50% by 2030 is well underway, unlocking opportunities in AI, engineering, systems design, and digital operations. These are not just technological shifts — they reflect a deeper change in how work is organised, how goods are produced, and where Singapore’s competitive edge lies.
