“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it,” tweets Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, in a Jun 3 post on social media platform X.

What followed was an eruption of an intense public feud between President Donald Trump and Musk that flared up on Thursday as they issued statements against each other on their respective social media platforms and the message is very clear: Musk is not in favour of the US budget that Trump hopes to pass.

As a result, Tesla shares plummeted 14% on Jun 5 to US$284.70 ($366.41) at market close.
