Far East Orchard, a member of Far East Organization, Singapore’s largest private property developer, does not have a net-zero target. Instead, what the real estate group has in place is a target to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 42% by 2030 from its baseline year of 2022.

Responding to The Edge Singapore at the unveiling of the FEOR30 five-year plan on Nov 24, Far East Orchard CEO Alan Tang says the company is “not at the stage where we are prepared to” announce a net-zero commitment.

In fact, climate and sustainability matters were left out of the FEOR30 strategy, a follow-up to its FEOR25 strategy unveiled in 2021.
