(Sept 11): ASL Marine Holdings says it is working with Indonesian authorities to establish the cause of a fire at its shipyard in Batam on Sept 7 that left five workers dead and one injured.

The victims were employees of a subcontractor.

Initial investigations confirm that the incident occurred on board a tanker that was being repaired at one of ASL Marine’s dry docks. The fire is believed to have started inside – and confined to – the pump room. There was no explosion.
