SINGAPORE (Sept 19): Sinar Mas-backed Golden Energy and Resources (GEAR) has received approval from the Indonesian Government to increase coal production at its 24,100 ha concession PT Borneo Indobara (BIB) from 6.3 million tonnes in FY15 to 7.5 million tonnes in FY16.

The group is also planning to increase its output further to 12 million tonnes for FY17, depending on market demand and government approvals.

GEAR says that BIB’s branded coal “BIB4200” has seen strong demand both domestically and from international markets like China, India and Southeast Asia.
