SINGAPORE (Oct 14): Some of the largest farms in the US, with over 100,000 acres of land, run much like corporations, with hundreds of employees and teams of professional managers.

According to a 2013 United States Department of Agriculture report, the capital intensity of farming, sharp fluctuations in commodity prices and new technologies could push farms to consolidate further.

Olam International sees an opportunity to capitalise on this trend.
