SINGAPORE (Aug 17): Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) on Wednesday played down reports that it is in talks to buy a portion of Temasek Holdings’ US$2.4 billion ($3.2 billion) stake in Thailand’s telco giant Intouch Holdings.

“Singtel regularly explores and reviews business opportunities, projects and proposals relating to its business and enters into discussions with various parties from time to time,” it said in a filing to SGX on Wednesday.

“There is no certainty that any transaction will arise from these discussions,” Singtel added.
