SINGAPORE (Dec 23): Singapore stocks ended lower in line with most of the market's regional peers, as volumes remained thin ahead of the year-end holidays.

The Straits Times Index ended the session 0.4% or 10.99 points lower at 2,871.05 points, with bank stocks weighing on the index.

Among banks, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp closed 0.7% lower at $8.93 and United Overseas Bank fell 7 cents to $20.35.
