SINGAPORE (June 10): Olam International on Thursday announced its acquisition of Brooks Peanut Company, the sixth largest peanut processor in the US, at an enterprise value of US$85 million ($115 million).

The deal adds to Olam’s December 2014 acquisition of peanut sheller McCleskey Mills, and entrenches Olam’s position as the third-largest peanut sheller in the US.

Olam now has 17% of the market share, with a peanut processing capacity in the region of 400,000 to 450,000 tons a year.
