Aztech Global has released an update in response to the tighter Movement Control Order (MCO) rules announced by the Malaysian authorities last weekend.

The latest iteration of the MCO, dubbed MCO 3.0, will run until June 6 and includes the mandatory observance of 40% of the workforce in the private sector to work from home effective May 25.

In its update on May 27, Aztech disclosed that its Malaysia production plant currently handles about 20% of the group’s total production output. Based on its preliminary assessment, the group estimates that the production output of the Malaysia plant will reduce by 30% in view of the restrictions for the two weeks between May 25 to June 7.
