As Franklin Technology Fund marks its 25th anniversary, portfolio manager Matt Cioppa sees AI not as a passing theme but as the next foundational technology wave for markets.

“We remain optimistic about tech over the next five years or so,” says Cioppa, as he elaborated that “foundational technology” changes the way humans interact with computers. And this phenomenon is expected to recur every 10 years or so.

“We’re about three years into the current one, which is AI ... we expect this to be a multi-decade phenomenon,” he adds.
