SINGAPORE (Feb 28): Tiong Seng Contractors, the subsidiary of construction group and property developer, Tiong Seng Holdings, has won a $113.8 million contract at Alexandra View from FEC Skyline.

The project involves the use of advanced precast construction, Prefabricated Bathroom Unit (PBU) and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA).

The unit will be required to design, construct and maintain a 44-storey tower comprising 400 residential units, a 1st storey commercial including a supermarket, 2-level basement carpark, with provision for a childcare centre, communal facilities, tennis court and swimming pool.

Pek Lian Guan, CEO of Tiong Seng, said: “Despite the relatively weak construction demand forecast for the private sector, we are pleased to make headway with our first contract win this year. We are confident that the adoption of advanced technologies is pivotal to the growth of the built environment sector and is fast gaining prominence for both public and private projects.”

Commencing from March 2017, the project will bring the group’s construction order book size to $1.0 billion, extending till 2020.

Shares of Tiong Seng closed at 24 cents.
