SINGAPORE (June 12): CITIC Envirotech has secured two projects with a total investment amount of RMB680 million ($141.7 million) for industrial hazardous waste treatment in Xinjiang Province, China.

The first contract is worth some RMB650 million, and is a build-own-operate (BOO) project of a 400,000 tons per year solid waste plant; a 50,000 tons per year hazardous waste plant; and a landfill in the Korla Economic and Technological Development Zone (ETDZ) in the capital of Bazhou City under the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

CITIC Envirotech says this waste treatment facility is a first in Korla ETDZ, and will serve the industries in oil and petrochemical, fine chemicals, cotton, chemical fibre, printing and dyeing, mining and machinery manufacturing located in the 140km sq industrial zone.
