Varel Singapore, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, has opened on the former site of Selegie Centre. The 128-room boutique hotel is part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio, and joins the Tribute Portfolio family of more than 180 independent hotels in over 35 countries and territories around the world — including The Vagabond Club at Syed Alwi Road.

Set within a heritage-rich precinct that traces stories of early immigrant communities through pre-war shophouses and Art Deco buildings, Varel Singapore reflects the evolving identity of this spirited district, where history, creativity and everyday life intersect.

Envisioned as a tribute to Singapore’s old and new, Varel Singapore draws inspiration from the childhood memories of its hotel owner, who grew up in the Selegie neighbourhood.
