Singapore-headquartered Univers has launched its Global Impact AI Lab (IAL) to accelerate enterprise-scale artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT)/ edge innovation aimed at reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.

The lab will focus on three core areas. They include energy efficiency through AI-driven optimisation of power generation and consumption; operational efficiency by connecting assets, systems and processes; as well as system efficiency through AI-enabled orchestration across energy and infrastructure ecosystems.

To deliver on these goals, Univers is tapping into partnerships with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Microsoft, and the National University of Singapore (NUS).
