However, the wider use of AI has made standing out harder. Among Gen Z respondents, 44% cited “not knowing how to stand out amidst strong competition” as their top concern in today’s digital hiring landscape.
LinkedIn's latest data show Gen Z is set to become Singapore’s most active job-hunting cohort in 2026, with 66% planning to look for new roles. By contrast, economic uncertainty is prompting many Millennials and Gen X professionals to stay put, reducing overall job mobility.
Gen Z is also the most aggressive adopter of AI in the hiring process. Nearly half of Gen Z respondents (45%) already use AI tools to draft application responses, run mock interviews, and create work samples, compared to Millennials (36%), Gen X (32%), and Baby Boomers (17%).
