BytePlus, the enterprise division of ByteDance, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EduSpaze, a Singapore-based education technology (EdTech) accelerator.
The MoU will see start-ups within EduSpaze’s ecosystem leverage BytePlus’s machine learning technology to foster and drive innovation in the education sector in Singapore and across Southeast Asia.
One of the technologies that EdTech start-ups can use is BytePlus’s sentiment analysis, which can help educators and learning platforms monitor a student’s focus levels. As such, educators can comprehend student experiences and improve their teaching methodology accordingly.
Meanwhile, BytePlus’s Neural Machine Translation for Text Translation enables educators to record a lesson in their local language and have it translated for students learning in other languages. This capability allows teachers to create video content using existing study materials and include audio-visual cues to make the video lessons more engaging.
HeyHi is among the EdTech start-ups looking to implement BytePlus’s solutions to create a more immersive learning experience for their students.
“With the availability of various ready-to-use machine learning tools, we can easily build, prototype and incorporate the new features into our personalised learning system to enhance our users’ experience. [For example,] BytePlus’ video analytics solution… can be served as additional data points for educators to understand learners’ learning progress,” says Glenn Low, co-founder and COO of HeyHi.

This partnership will help enhance the EdTech solutions we are rolling out, which are beneficial to the entire education ecosystem across the region.”
