Fintech training platform 10x1000 Tech for Inclusion (10x1000) has launched its global Fintech Foundation Program Flex to equip practitioners with the mindset, knowledge, and skills to become drivers of digital economic growth.

In Singapore, it will work with cross-industry and non-profit organisation Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) to recruit 100 learners locally to embark on the three-week online programme in October.

SG FinTech Club members can apply for the Flex programme through SFA. Applicants must be professionals with a minimum of three years of experience in a fintech or digital economy related company/role.

Through the Flex programme, participants will learn about technologies that enable fintech such as blockchain and artificial intelligence, best practices in product thinking, and the relationship between digitalisation and inclusion, among others.

“With 90% of fintech companies in Singapore planning to grow their workforce over the next 12 months, continuous education, mentorship and training opportunities are critical to bridging the demand for talents. [This] collaboration marks another milestone in SFA’s ongoing efforts of forging industry partnerships to provide local professionals with the opportunity to further build their expertise to stay relevant and competitive,” says Shadab Taiyabi, president of Singapore Fintech Association.

10x1000 is a philanthropic initiative launched jointly by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, and Alipay in 2018.

10x1000’s collaboration with SFA is part of its ongoing effort to deepen its collaborations with partners worldwide to achieve its mission of training 1,000 emerging talents and tech leaders every year for the next 10 years.

Globally, it is also working with IFC, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, UN World Food Programme, SME Finance Forum Managed by the IFC, Dubai International Financial Centre, MDEC, KPMG and fintech associations from Hong Kong, Malaysia, MENA, the Philippines and Thailand to recruit Flex learners.

“We are delighted to join hands with the Singapore FinTech Association to bring the 10x1000 training platform to learners worldwide, as we seek innovative approaches to meeting a common goal of bridging the digital skills gap. I am excited that learners from 10x1000’s new Flex program will gain the fintech knowledge that they need to support their communities,” says Eric Jing, chairman and CEO of Ant Group, owner and operator of digital payments platform Alipay.
