SINGAPORE (June 12): Growth in the global economy should moderate in 3Q but is not expected to end any time soon, says DBS.

At present, the global economy continues to strengthen and cyclical trade, industrial production, consumption data are showing signs of a pickup in Asia, the US, Europe and Japan.

“We reckon that growth is likely to have peaked in 1Q, and on year-on-year terms, growth would probably start to fall sharply in fourth quarter 2017,” says strategist Joanne Goh in her 3Q regional report on Friday.
