SINGAPORE (April 4): CNMC Goldmine Holdings on Tuesday announced that its flagship Sokor gold mine in Kelantan contains mineral resources of around 623,000 ounces of gold in the ground as at end-2016, despite mine depletion during the year.

This is according to an annual review by independent expert geologists from Australia-based Optiro, a mining-focused consulting group.

Optiro estimated approximately 13.25 million tonnes of measured, indicated and inferred resource at CNMC’s Sokor gold field. Based on an overall gold grade of 1.5 grams per tonne, this translates into 623,000 ounces of gold underground after depleting all gold mined to Dec 31, 2016.
