SINGAPORE (March 6): Mapletree Industrial Trust (MIT) is set to develop a build-to-suit (BTS) data centre in the western region of Singapore at an estimated cost of $60 million.

The six-storey complex with gross floor area of about 242,000 square feet will be fully leased to an established data centre operator for an initial lease term of more than 10 years with staggered rental escalations as well as renewal options. The project is expected to be completed in 2H18.

The proposed site, located in a specialised industrial park for data centres with ready-built infrastructure, is situated on a land area of 96,800 square feet. It has been allocated by JTC Corporation and is zoned for Business 2 use with a land tenure of 30 years.
