SINGAPORE (Oct 25): The Singapore market ended slightly lower on Tuesday, as declines in oil and gas and marine-related stocks more than offset gains in plantation stocks amid surging crude palm oil prices.

The benchmark Straits Times Index closed down 0.09% to 2.63 points at 2,854.05. The broader market saw the transaction of 1.49 billion shares with a total value of $765.4 million. Losers outnumbered gainers 230 to 171.

Among the STI component stocks, Golden Agri-Resources rose to its highest in more than four months, ending 5.3% higher at 40 cents while Jardine Cycle & Carriage rose 1.2% to close at $42.78.
