The gas tariff for households will increase by 0.73 cent per kilowatt hour (kWh), from 22.42 cents per kWh to 23.15 cents per kWh starting Jan 1, 2024, before the onset of the 9% goods and services tax (GST).

This is according to City Energy, Singapore's sole provider of piped town gas, and a subsidiary of the Singapore Exchange S68

-listed Keppel Infrastructure Trust A7RU

The town gas tariff revision will be for the period until March 31, 2024, and is due to higher costs compared with the previous quarter.

City Energy reviews the gas tariffs based on guidelines set by the Energy Market Authority (EMA), the gas industry regulator, and the increased prices have been approved by EMA.
