Loh Boon Chye, the CEO of Singapore Exchange (SGX) S68

, has been elected as the chairman of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE).

Loh is one of the seven new directors who were elected to the board on Sept 20.

The WFE is a global industry group for exchanges and central counterparties (CCPs) and comprises 18 leaders from around the world.

The other new directors elected are Jos Dijsselhof, the CEO of SIX Group, who has been appointed as vice-chairman. John McKenzie, the CEO of TMX Group Limited, has been named the chairman of the WFE’s working committee. Greg Wojciechowski, president and CEO of the Bermuda Stock Exchange, and Fredric J. Tomczyk, CEO of Cboe Global Markets, have both been appointed as director of the WFE’s Americas region.

Hiromi Yamaji, group CEO of the Japan Exchange Group, as well as Byungdoo Sohn, chairman and CEO of the Korea Exchange, were both named as directors of the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
