Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) (SGX:Z74) has commenced the construction of DC Tuas, the nation’s highest power density, hyper-connected green data centre.

At its groundbreaking ceremony on Aug 8, Infocomm Media Development Authority’s (IMDA) Chief Executive, Lew Chuen Hong congratulated the telco on the groundbreaking, noting that it was “encouraging to see companies such as Singtel invest in our digital infrastructure”.

“IMDA will continue to work with the industry to architect a sustainable digital ecosystem that is internationally connected, to serve the long-term demands of Singapore’s digital future,” he added.
