The group says the project was developed to create a regional green hydrogen hub connecting Sumatra, the Riau Islands and Singapore.
Sembcorp Industries, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Sembcorp Utilities, has entered into a joint development agreement (JDA) with PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia, a sub-holding company of PT PLN (Persero), for a green hydrogen production facility in Sumatra, Indonesia.
According to an Oct 21 release, the facility is expected to produce 100,000 metric tonnes of green hydrogen per year and is set to become Southeast Asia’s largest green hydrogen development initiative.
