Prasarana Integrated Development Sdn Bhd (PRIDE), a subsidiary of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, has partnered with United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB Malaysia) to rebrand the Bandaraya LRT Station as ‘Bandaraya-UOB LRT Station’ under Prasarana’s station naming rights programme.

Malaysia Transport Minister Anthony Loke, who officiated the launch alongside UOB deputy chairman and group CEO Wee Ee Cheong, said the initiative reflects how private sector participation can strengthen Malaysia’s public transport ecosystem while diversifying revenue streams for Prasarana.

“Public transport is not a profit-making venture... It is heavily subsidised by the government. To ensure financial sustainability, we need to explore alternative sources of revenue such as station branding and advertising," Loke said.
