Ruddenklau’s most recent roles prior to the appointment were global co-leader of fintech for KPMG International, as well as partner and head of digital and innovation for financial services in KPMG in the UK.

In his role as head of financial services, Ruddenklau will provide “strategic direction and impetus” to the financial services practice at KPMG Singapore.

The department is one of the priority sectors in KPMG Singapore. This is as “the new realities of the post-crisis world bring into focus digital and customer-centric solutions, as well as sustainability and cost reduction strategies,” says the firm.

“Anton’s wealth of global leadership experience will help guide our clients through a highly disruptive period for Financial Services,” says Ong Pang Thye, managing partner, KPMG in Singapore.

“Given the rising demand for transformation projects in the Asian marketplace, his understanding of growth strategies and financial technology innovations will enable us to deliver more effective results for our clients. Anton’s arrival will also help intensify our focus on this key sector, against the backdrop of the rapidly evolving digital finance landscape,” Ong adds.

“I’m looking forward to the exciting new journey in Singapore, a leading global financial hub with a progressive regulator. My vision is to strengthen KPMG’s proposition as a digital beacon for our clients, the markets we serve and our global network,” says Ruddenklau.

“We are seeing several compelling opportunities for growth, including the digital convergence of traditional sector boundaries and the transformation of business models along cost, revenue and service lines. Given KPMG’s heritage in risk, regulation and finance, our salient mission is to help clients safely achieve their aspirations with innovative and ‘art of the possible’ solutions,” he adds.
