Wee Kok Wah, the founder and senior advisor of Stamford Tyres (SGX:S29) , has died on Oct 21.

Wee has been at the helm of the group since he took over from his father as its managing director and president in the 1970s.

Since the group’s public listing in 1991, Wee “steadily expanded its business into a global international player in the distribution and retailing of tyres and wheels, and the manufacturing of wheels”, says Stamford Tyres in its announcement.
