Samudera Shipping, better known for running "feeder" routes across Asia, has launched a new weekly container service connecting Japan and Korea.
This route, in operation this month onwards, marks its entry into the Korea-Japan trade corridor and the extension of its intra-Asia footprint into Northeast Asia.
The Korea-Japan Shuttle service will connect Nagoya and Kobe in Japan with Busan in South Korea, supporting demand for reliable feeder connections between the two markets.
"The Korea-Japan trade lane is an active and important corridor and the launch of the KJS service aligns with our focus of building a resilient and responsive intra-Asia network," says CEO Bani Mulia.
The KJS service has been introduced on the back of customer demands, with committed cargo providing a strong base load for the service.
Samudera Shipping shares closed at $1.07, up 1.9% for the day but down 10.08% year to date.
