SINGAPORE (Sept 6): The Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) has launched the ACE International Centre (ACEIC) at JTC LaunchPad @ One-North to support start-ups in expanding globally.

ACEIC will assist Singapore-based start-ups in connecting to overseas markets and partners, while hosting programmes such as market awareness workshops and networking sessions.

At the same time, international start-ups will be able to access the centre’s co-working spaces and partners for investments, technology, and business opportunities.

“We are confident that ACEIC will play a vital role in serving the globalisation needs of both domestic and international start-ups based in Singapore, and further solidify our foundation as an international business hub for entrepreneurship and place Singapore at the frontier of the global digital economy,” says Edmas Neo, executive director, ACE.

According to Neo, ACEIC’s objectives also include co-innovation with enterprises in Singapore. The centre is currently hosting five Korean start-ups for a month of programmes, and will see another batch of 10 start-ups in October.

“A lot of partnerships, discussions, and designing of programmes is still in progress with our partners overseas. Over this year we are looking to bring 20 to 25 start-ups to [Singapore] and bring about five start-ups overseas,” says Neo.

ACE today also signed a memorandum of understanding with KPMG Digital Village to support and drive co-innovation between start-ups and enterprises in the region.

ACE and KPMG Digital Village will explore the setting up of a regional co-innovation hub, as well as provide a shared co-working space for enterprises and start-ups.

“By driving collaboration between enterprises and start-ups, ACEIC and KPMG will facilitate this,” says Jan Reinmueller, head, KPMG Digital Village.

“Whether it’s helping start-ups solve real business challenges via corporate accelerators, or supporting the enterprises’ innovation journey, we will be working closely with ACE to grow it into the largest co-innovation hub in the region – and possibly the world,” he adds.
