Lazada is partnering with Enterprise Singapore (ESG) to offer subsidies for local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to move online via the E-Commerce Booster Package.

The E-Commerce Booster Package, which was initially rolled out last year, has been reintroduced by ESG on May 16, aiming to help retail businesses affected by tightened Covid-19 measures go online to diversify revenue channels and defray business costs.

Lazada is offering three different onboarding packages for retailers to get on its platform which caters to the needs of different businesses. Through the partnership with ESG, retailers will be eligible for subsidies of 80% off qualifying costs, up to $8,000.

The onboarding packages include content creation, product photography, store decoration, marketing and shipping credits, and a dedicated account manager. Under the ‘Premium’ package, valued at $28,890, qualifying retailers only need to pay $2,000 after the subsidies, which amounts to 93% in savings.

“With the support of our E-Commerce Booster Package, we hope to lower the barriers for retailers to build new digital capabilities, like digital marketing or product positioning, which will not only help sustain operations in the immediate term, but also strengthen their competitiveness beyond the pandemic,” says Dilys Boey, assistant CEO of ESG.

“It is part of Lazada’s mission to empower retailers and transform them for the future – as E-Commerce increasingly becomes part and parcel of the way to shop, it will be an avenue that retailers cannot ignore,” says James Chang, CEO of Lazada Singapore.

Over 300 businesses onboarded to Lazada when it partnered ESG last year to offer the E-Commerce Booster Package. In addition, Lazada has an ongoing partnership with the Singapore Institute of Retail Studies to offer a crash course in E-Commerce that is redeemable via SkillsFuture credits.

Lazada is also the official E-Commerce partner of the Great Singapore Sale (GSS), offering benefits including three months 0% commission for new LazMall sellers, as well as a free livestreaming slot on the platform, exclusively for members of the Singapore Retailers Association (SRA) who take part in GSS. SRA members who are also new to Lazada will stand to benefit from both the E-Commerce Booster Package, as well as the additional benefits exclusive to SRA members under the GSS partnership.

The deadline for interested parties to apply for the E-Commerce Booster Package via Lazada is on Nov 16.
