StarHub viewers will be some of the lucky few worldwide to enjoy all six Disney content brands following an exclusive deal between the Singapore telco and The Walt Disney Company. Under the agreement, StarHub will become the official distributor of Disney+ in Singapore with its television, mobile and broadband offerings.

“We are excited to be the first and only fully-integrated quad-play service provider to raise the entertainment bar for our customers with Disney+, home to some of the most recognisable cultural brands in the world today,” says Johan Buse, who is the chief of StarHub’s consumer business group.

Disney+ - home to 500 films and 15,000 episodes of content including The Mandalorian and Marvel’s WandaVision - will be the eighth streaming platform fully integrated on StarHub TV+. Viewers can access Disney+ via television or on-the-go via Starhub 5G, taking advantage of “Singapore’s widest 5G network with over 70% population coverage”.

“With the growing ubiquity of ultra-responsive 5G, our customers will be able to experience true mobility and freedom, enjoying the freshest entertainment at the highest quality anytime, anywhere and on any screen,” boasts Buse.

Disney+ launches on 23 February 2021. From today, customers can register their interest online to receive updates about the new streaming platform. More details on deals for new and existing customers are expected from StarHub closer to the launch.

“We’re pleased to work with StarHub to provide consumers in Singapore yet another avenue to get access to Disney+,” says Amit Malhotra, Regional Lead, Emerging Markets, The Walt Disney Company APAC. “This is another step forward in our commitment to bring audiences in Singapore the highest quality entertainment content Disney has to offer.”

As at 3.33pm, shares in StarHub are trading flat at $1.32.
