ComfortDelGro (CGD) has disclosed that BlackRock has become a substantial shareholder of the company, following the acquisition of 5.2 million shares on May 27.

Pursuant to the acquisition, BlackRock now holds effectively 108.4 million CDG shares or a 5% deemed interest in the company, up from 103.2 million shares or 4.76% previously.

The shares are held through various BlackRock subsidiaries.

Shares in CDG closed 2 cents or 1.21% higher at $1.68 on May 28.
