ComfortDelGro Taxi (CDG) will be embarking on a beta trial of its ride-hailing service on Feb 4.

The move will involve a small number of private hire cars as CDG gauges customer reaction to the service.

The beta trial is expected to run up to March.

The offering will only be available to customers on the ComfortRIDE booking option, and will be served by the private hire cars and CDG’s 10,000 strong fleet of taxis.

Passengers can choose from either ‘Taxi’ or ‘Car’ or ‘Taxi Only’ when making a booking.

Shares in CDG closed 4 cents lower or 2.4% down at $1.59 on Jan 28.
