SINGAPORE (Mar 19): The Vanity Fair Oscar party, which occurs right after the Academy Awards ceremony, is a big affair. This year’s party on March 4 was graced by a galaxy of stars. Among them were Emily Blunt, Adriana Lima and Sara Sampaio, all decked out in glittering Chopard jewellery.
Emily Blunt
Blunt wore earrings that featured 18.86 carats of radiant-cut orange diamonds and 12.01 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold and 18k yellow gold, a ring featuring a 5.11-carat fancy dark brown yellow diamond and .60 carat of fancy intense yellow diamonds set in 18k yellow gold, as well as another ring featuring a 20.36-carat round yellow sapphire, 1.85 carats of yellow and orange sapphires and .61-carat of diamonds set in 18k yellow gold. All pieces were from the High Jewellery collection.
Adriana Lima
The Brazilian model selected earrings featuring 39.68 carats of diamonds set in platinum and a bracelet featuring 24.94 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold. Both were from the High Jewellery collection.
Sara Sampaio
Sampaio showed off her earrings from the Precious Chopard collection. It has 2.79 carats of pear-shaped diamonds, 1.02 carats of diamonds and .95 carat of diamonds set in 18k white gold. Sampaio also wore two rings from the High Jewellery collection — one featuring a 10.15-carat heart-shaped diamond and 3.69 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold, and the other featuring a 2.47-carat cut-cornered rectangular step-cut diamond and 1.32-carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold.
Iconic Bag
“It” model Kaia Gerber (supermodel Cindy Crawford’s daughter) has caught the artistic attention of Karl Lagerfeld. The “kaiser” shot the 2018 handbag campaign at Mademoiselle Chanel’s apartment. In one picture (main image), Gerber strikes a pose with the iconic Chanel 11.12 bag, while stretched out on a fawn suede sofa with quilted cushions.
Best in product design
The Octo Finissimo Automatic in titanium by Bulgari has been awarded the iF Gold award under the Product category by the iF Design Award. The timepiece features an ultra-thin grandes complications innovation. Other innovations include the transparent caseback and bracelet made of titanium. The design challenge lies in the bracelet, where links are meticulously matched to incorporate the folding clasp. The Octo Finissimo Automatic was selected as winner by a panel of 63 independent experts from the international design committee.
Ease into Fall
British-based luxury fashion label Joseph’s autumn/winter 2018 collection for women shows the best in design, fabric and craftsmanship. Pleated skirts, tailoring tucks and dresses wrap the body with warmth and ease. The colour palette is bold with plastic bag blue, neon yellow and highlighter red.
The violet riot
The Daisy Twinkle edition of three fragrances by Marc Jacobs seeks to embody the spirited woman who adores the great outdoors. Daisies in shades of violet along with splashes of gold give the design a touch of springtime fun.
Midnight rendezvous
The Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph is the first model in IWC’s history to combine a chronograph from the 89000 calibre family with the perpetual calendar’s moon phase display in a subdial at 12 o’clock. With white-gold particles sprinkled across the dark blue background, the subdial reminds one of the star-studded night sky. Together with its three other displays, this new function creates a harmonious unit on the dial of the 43mm watch. For the chronograph, the hour and minute counters are combined in a totaliser at 12 o’clock. The Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph is available in two versions — 18-carat red gold and stainless steel.
