Hermès looks to the heavens for its Only Watch 2019 contribution.
SINGAPORE (July 18): Ever the romantic, Hermès offers a piece-unique version of the dreamy Arceau L’heure de la lune, as it plays its part to raise funds for research against muscular dystrophy at the Only Watch 2019 charity auction.
A new addition to the Hermès stable of complications, the Arceau L’heure de la lune, which debuted at SIHH 2019, is characteristically off-kilter in its presentation and technical approach. Here, the moonphase indicator is reinterpreted by way of a mobile satellite module, featuring date and time discs that rotate around the dial, which in turn obscure and reveal two true-to-life depictions of the moon, as they display the phases of the moon in both the northern and southern hemispheres.
Differing from the original model, the Only Watch 2019 version comes with a blue rhodium-plated meteorite dial, complemented by gradated black lacquered mobile discs and blue numerals. To complete the look, the Arceau L’heure de la lune Only Watch 2019 comes with, what else but, an Hermès leather strap, rendered here in alligator skin with blue zephyr calfskin inlay.
