A Broadway sensation acclaimed with numerous prestigious awards, Hamilton arrives in Singapore for the third leg of its international tour. This follows sold-out debuts in Manila in September and Abu Dhabi in January.

Held at the Sands Theatre from Apr 19 to May 26 and presented by Base Entertainment Asia, Hamilton tells the story of American founding father, Alexander Hamilton. Published in a biography written by American journalist Ron Chernow, Hamilton’s story begins from his early days as an orphan in the Caribbean to his role in the American Revolutionary War and his contributions to the drafting of the US Constitution. The musical also explores Hamilton’s relationships with other historical figures such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr.

Brought to life by American songwriter and filmmaker Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton marks a revolutionary moment in theatre — a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics and education, underpinned by a toe-tapping score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway. One of the notable aspects of this musical is its diverse cast, with actors of different racial and ethnic backgrounds portraying the American Founding Fathers and other historical figures.

Since its debut in 2015, it has become a cultural phenomenon, receiving widespread acclaim for its innovative approach to storytelling, catchy musical numbers and exploration of themes such as ambition, legacy and the complexities of human relationships. Hamilton has won numerous accolades, including 11 Tony Awards, seven Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.

“I’m thrilled to bring Hamilton to Singapore and continue the show’s global journey. Hamilton’s themes of hope, equality and the power of storytelling are universal. It has been a thrill to see audiences fall in love with the show — be it in Australia or the Philippines and I’m excited to see it connect with audiences in Singapore,” says Michael Cassel, producer of the Hamilton international tour.

Tickets range between $80 and $1,000 from Sistic and Marina Bay Sands Ticketing.
