SINGAPORE (June 14): The 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia is expected to help boost advertising spend in Asia Pacific this year, according to forecasts by advertising and digital communications group Dentsu Aegis Network.

In a biannual report released today, the group says regional ad spend is expected to rise 4.5% year-on-year to hit a total investment of US$216 billion ($288 billion) in 2018, compared to a 4.0% y-o-y growth last year.

This points to a more positive 2018 for Asia Pacific advertising expenditure than previously expected. In the last edition of the report published in January, Dentsu Aegis Network had forecast Asia Pacific ad spend to rise 4.2% y-o-y.
