SINGAPORE (Aug 27): Mainboard-listed Raffles Medical Group could bring its insurance business to China.

On Monday, the healthcare operator signed a Memorandum of Understanding with insurer China Taiping to explore setting up a joint venture in China offering medical insurance and health management services.

The MoU further enables China Taiping to appoint Raffles Medical as a preferred healthcare provider for China Taiping's insured members, staff and dependents, and affiliates. Both companies are also jointly looking for opportunities in the investment and management of healthcare-related real estate, or in related consulting businesses.
